Groenekan, Holland...We spent the night at our friend Jan's parents house last night. The warm bed was awesome! I slept so well, not shivering like I was in the wet sleeping bag for many nights. Kröller Möller museum was amazing, an art museum in the middle of a national forest. Lots of great artists with lots of Van Gogh. We were caught in a downpour before we arrived at the museum so we were soaking when we entered. The museum wasn't especially warm, so after a warm 'gezellig' cup of free trade hot chocolate at the museum, we hopped on our bikes to warm up again.
We've biked through the Huge Veluwe forest, through Otterlo, Arnhem, Ede, Scherpenzeel, Woudenberg, and Utrecht. Now we're headed back toward Amsterdam. We've ridden on many great forest trails, gotten lost in many cities, had a lot o flat tires, and had some really beautiful camping sites. Holland is a beautiful country with weather that is more unpredictable than Colorado's.

Somewhere on the way to Kroller Moller, Holland...Lots of biking and camping, biking and camping. So much to share so little blogtime. Ended up not being able to find campsite, nice couple , Michel and Monique, let us camp in their yard, fed us a "lekker" dinner, and gave us yummy cappucinos in the morning. Raining 20 hrs straight, my tent became a swimming pool. We spent day hanging out on their veranda.
The highlights of the last few days were the Muiden Castle, biking in farmland, and meeting Michel and Monique. Weirdest moment...poop bag explosion on Bryan's back wheel as he was biking through Amsterdam. Glad I wasn't near.

Westhavenveg, Holland...We've had some great days of biking since leaving Schoorl. The dunes and forests near the sea are beautiful with crazy hairy buffalo/cow creatures that make you feel like your on a different planet. Camping has been great despite being illegal. Rolly polies are everywhere. We came back to Amsterdam to see sailing jamboree that happens every 5 years. Tons of tall ships and way too many people.
Best investment for the trip was my Patagonia M10 mango rain jacket. I've used that even more than my handcycle. Thanks Chris Deirolf for getting me a good price on it.
We're headed away to the east tomorrow towards the forest with Van Gogh museum. So far the biggest day of biking was 38 km. We'll see what the future has in store.

Schoorl, Holland...Getting ready to leave Schoorl tomorrow. We're being interviewed by the Alkmaar paper tomorrow morning about our trip. Bryan biked to Den Hague yesterday and back today. I hiked yesterday in the forest near Schoorl and walked to Schoorl with Johan and Aidan. We picked up some postcards and gelatto. It made me miss the burnt caramel gelatto with black salt at Basta's in Boulder.
After dinner of more stomppot and the doughnut-like oleobollen (oil balls), Claudia, Aidan, and I hiked over to the Groet market. I picked up some homemade Sambal cheese and more stroopwafels.
Today it just rained and rained and rained. It's been really great to be out of the elements for a couple of days, staying with Johan, Claudia, Aidan, and Ethan. One of the hardest things about cycle touring is that your always in the weather. After the second day of travel, all my gear has been wet. Once it's wet it never seems to dry out. Tomorrow the weather is looking better. Sunny skies!

Schoorl, Holland...Wow! We've been here a week and I'm finally getting a little time for internet. It's an amazing country of bikes. Bike paths are everywhere and car drivers are aware of bikers. The old and young are biking. It's beautiful. We've managed to go a distance of between 20 and 35 km a day. I'll add more in the next couple of days.

Boulder, Colorado...Last day of water skiing today. Tried the wakeboard. Unbelievably fun!!! I can't wait until next summer.
I'm running around trying to get ready for the trip to Holland. Bikes are packed, but I still need to get good but inexpensive camera equipment for filming. Talk about complicated.
